Michael Pachla: Some 2016-17 NHL predictions for the Buffalo Sabres

I love it how these writers are saying the Sabres will finish below the Leafs, we could win the cup and still get no respect. But then again, these Canadian writers mean nothing to me. Nobody at ESPN has a clue about the Sabres let alone the NHL.

And, what are the Leafs icing that would have them higher in the standings then us? They have a lot of talented kids, but virtually all of them have yet to play an NHL game.

At this point, I'm kind of glad that everyone is saying we're going to do poorly. We all know that teams have a tendency to not do the best with a ton of expectations heaped on them. Plus I think we have the type of guys that will take these a bit personally and will play with a bit of a chip on their shoulder trying to prove everyone wrong.

It's Buffalo. We're pretty much always the underdog. Why change it now?

They have the best coach in the NHL. He coached them too 30th place.

this is true, goosie, but i'm of the opinion that I hope it changes...

I wrote a while back about rex being in the spotlight and how he had his team in the spotlight...they failed last season but if you're gonna be a contender, dare I say perennial contender, you need to get accustomed to performing under the brightest lights

That game yesterday was UGLY. But, a win is a win. And Monday's suck a little bit less after a Bills win.

According to all the experts, we will finish last or close to last. This will make our success this year so much sweeter.

I'm excited for the season. Going to the game Thursday. I've been ready for the season to start for probably a month now.

I am a bit concerned that Risto still doesn't have a contract though.

I'm getting some 05-06 vibes. Going to love when this team(hopefully) surprises a lot of people.

I didn't watch the whole game. But I think on at least three occasions tyrod went to hand the ball off to the rb and he had to do a complete 360 to do it. No one was on the same page.

I saw this on Wednesday. Was at $14,000 then. Pretty cool. A little too rich for my blood though.
